FRENCH FRED WINS OLYMPUS PRO PHOTOGRAPHER SHOWDOWN

The Olympus Pro Photographer Showdown during the ongoing World Ski & Snowboard Festival (WSSF) in Whistler, B.C. is a celebration of action sports photography. The legendary event brings together some of the world’s best to share some of their all-time favourite images capturing sport, culture and the human spirit.

Regarded by many as one of the preeminent action sports photography events in the world, over the years the Olympus Pro Photographer Showdown has seen some of the top action sport and lifestyle photographers in the game battle it out on stage, each vying for the title of Best in Show.

Last night, in front of a packed house at the Whistler Conference Centre, Ashley Barker, Chris Burkard, Fred Mortagne, Grant Gunderson and Roberto Alegria presented a slice of their life's work, and when it was all said and done, the legendary skate filmer / photographer "French" Fred Mortagne walked away with the win and $10,000.
