BURTON UNVEILS TEAM CANADA UNIFORMS

Last night in Toronto, ON. Burton showed us what the Canada Snowboard team will wear as they "go for gold". Jake gave an amazing speech that spoke to the true spirt of snowboarding and everyone had fun with it. Today we present them to you to cast judgement or break out your wallets to get a piece of the once-every-four-year frenzy. Bring it on.

As the official sponsor of the Canadian National Freestyle Snowboard Team, Burton designed exclusive outerwear for the team to wear during halfpipe, slopestyle and big air snowboard competitions at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.
The PyeongChang Games will mark the first time Burton has partnered with Canada Snowboard to create a one-of-a-kind uniform for the Canadian National Freestyle Snowboard Team to wear with pride at the Olympics. The official Olympic competition uniform designed by Burton includes a competition jacket, pants, bib pants, down insulator, hand-knit Canadian Heritage Sweater, fleece, first layer, gloves/mitts, fleece hood, merino neckwarmer and beanies.
Burton worked with Canada’s Granted Sweater Company to knit custom Canadian Heritage Sweaters that the 2018 Canadian National Freestyle Snowboard Team will receive as a part of the competition uniform for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. Each of the sweaters for the Canadian National Freestyle Snowboard Team was knit by local artisans and took anywhere from 20-25 hours to produce. The artwork on the hand-knit sweaters was designed by Corrine Hunt, who was born in Alert Bay, British Columbia and has been creating contemporary art that reflects the themes and traditions of her First Nations Komoyue and Tlingit heritage for more than 24 years. Corrine also co-designed the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic medals.

“The motifs on the sweater and the uniform jacket represent strength, beauty, creativity and agility. Emblazoned with the bear, raven, sun and orca, the athletes will shine inside and out.” –Corrine Hunt

“This uniform is made by a snowboard brand and we’ve had full say in the complete design from start to finish, so I’m excited to represent it in PyeongChang. I really wanted a bib-style pant for competition, so Burton designed one as a part of the uniform. It’s really nice to feel at home in your gear.” –Mark McMorris
