After contributing as an additional filmer to several other snowboard projects, I made the decision to fully commit my time to my own artistic vision and direction.
In my film, "Collapsing Season," I shone a light on some local girls and friends who hadn't previously had the opportunity to film street.
The film mainly features riders Vanessa Cléroux & Matt Schmid.
Apart from being a long-time ripper, Vanessa is an artist known locally as a music producer. For years, she collaborated with videographers worldwide, crafting instrumental soundtracks for snowboarding and skateboarding films, documentaries, and advertisements.
And then there's Matt – an overall fkn great dude with the best attitude that makes him a favorite on and off the mountain. He's the kind of guy everyone wants on their crew. If he is not the one lending a hand shoveling someone's spot, he's the one cheering them up the whole time.
The budget came from our own pockets for this debut project. The film showcases not only our dedication to our crafts but also the incredible good vibes and strong friendships.
At the end of the season, snow melted much faster than in previous years, adding an extra layer of challenge to the production.
This seasonal shift gave the film its name, "Collapsing Season."
