Hallelujah! Snowboarding is returning to the village for WSSF 2024. Forty snowboarders and skiers are showing up and showing off for a 20K prize purse. With Air Time Jody Wachniak on the mic and riders Marty Vachon, Finn Westbury, Darcy Sharpe, Truth Smith, Crystal Legoffe and Jasmine Baird on the steel. We're talking about a don't miss session.

The Cut Rail Jam brings action back to Skiers Plaza

A new addition to the World Ski and Snowboard Festival featuring snowboarding, skiing, and live music in the heart of Whistler Village on April 13, 2024

WHISTLER, BC – March 18, 2024 – The World Ski and Snowboard Festival (WSSF) is set to get even more electrifying by introducing "The Cut” rail jam, sponsored by Rockstar Energy and Skullcandy, to the sport lineup, on Saturday, April 13, starting at 2 p.m. The event will showcase 40 top-tier snowboard and ski athletes, including Cameron Spalding, Truth Smith, Darcy Sharpe, Finn Westbury, Jasmine Baird, Teal Harle, and Avery Krumme.

Female and male skiers and snowboarders will compete to take home a $20,000 prize purse divided equally among all categories. This group of globally recognized athletes will throw down on the rail features in a display of talent and technique in Skiiers Plaza, where spectators can watch the free show.

Other riders competing in this year’s event include Marty Vachon, Caleb Chomlack, and Ron Forth in Men’s snowboarding. Women’s snowboarding athletes include Crystal Legoffe, Avery Spalding, Maggie Crompton, and Bailey Birkkjaer. Representing Men’s Skiing are Etienne Georffory-Gagnon, Jake Carney, and Jacob Belanger. Finally, Women’s Skiing is represented by Caoimhe Heavey, Shondra Charbonneau, Avery Krumme, and Alais Develay. More athletes are to be announced.

The event will be hosted by Emcees Jody Wachniak, Mikey Ciccarelli, and Callum Pettit. Wachniak said, “I’m so hyped to MC an event of this style and scale in my hometown!” Pettit commented, “I’m super excited for WSSF to bring back music and action in the Village. Whistler always has great energy and buzz when this event kicks off!”

Head Judge Harrison Gray will support industry ski judges Grete Eliaassen and Garrett Russell. John Martin and Maria Thomsen represent snowboard industry judges.

A live DJ will play during the rail jam to get the riders fired up. To conclude the rail jam, the focus will shift to the Main Stage in Skier’s Plaza, where a to-be-announced artist will perform live.
