HOUSE OF VANS HEADS TO VANCOUVER FOR FOUR DAY POP-UP EXPERIENCE

Highlights Include Musical Performances by John Maus and 88GLAM, Street Market, Art Exhibition, Skatepark and more.



Montreal, QC. (May 9, 2019) – Vans is pleased to announce House of Vans in Vancouver from May 30th to June 2nd. As the cultural hub for the brand, House of Vans is an incubator of creative expression bringing to life Vans' founding pillars of action sports, art, music and street culture. Vans is excited to bring the pop-up experience for the first time in Vancouver in celebration of the vibrant community based in the city. The densely packed, four days of programming will take place at the Harbour Event Centre at 750 Pacific Boulevard (formally known as the Edgewater Casino). House of Vans Vancouver programming will include live musical performances by John Maus, and Canadian hip hop duo, 88GLAM. Creative activations include ROCK SOLID celebrating 5 Years of Crack Gallery and a variety of workshops including screen printing, zine making, cartooning with Los Angeles based artist Jay Howell, and a Vans Customs workshop. House of Vans will also host a street market showcasing local vendors and a skatepark built and designed in partnership with key partners in the skateboard community to honour Vancouver’s rich history in skateboarding. The pop-up event will host daily open skate sessions in a custom indoor skatepark and a Skate Skool clinic for beginners. Additionally, House of Vans is proud to present Get on Board: a celebration of women’s skateboarding. The initiative invites women of all ages to participate in on-site skate clinics, inspiring a new wave of women’s skateboarding progression. “As one of the key cultural hubs in Canada we are excited to bring the House of Vans to Vancouver for the first time ever.” said Vans Canada Marketing Director, Alex Auchu. “We collaborated closely with the local community to bring Vans’ ‘Off The Wall’ spirit to life. With an event location right on the harbour and exciting interactive experiences, like our Skate Skool, creative workshops and the Street Market, House of Vans provides a platform to highlight and support the thriving creative culture of Vancouver.” The House of Vans pop-up in Vancouver will be located at the Harbour Event Centre at 750 Pacific Boulevard. The event will kick off at 4pm on Thursday, May 30th and will run throughout the weekend until Sunday, June 2nd.
