BAKED SALMON 2018 | RECAP & GALLERY

Last Saturday Mt. Seymour hosted the third annual Baked Salmon Banked Slalom, and for the third year in a row the sun shown down, and the course was a mind-boggling feat of hand-built shaperry (shaping so good it’s close to wizardry). The amount of hours organizing, planning, and sculpting from a staggering number of contributing friends brings this very special event to fruition is surreal.

All the usual suspects and some old familiar faces brought the reliable brouhaha we’ve come to expect. The heckles were ruthless. The mini big air brought backflips. The rails kept the ADD in snowboarders at bay. Geeves shocked us with yet another death-defying gap. Oh, and there was one hell of a fun race.

Scott Fierbach, David Birnie, Tony Lefroy, Jeff Keenan, and the Horn organize this event with the help of the sponsors Salmon Arms, Dinosaurs Will Die, Cariboo Brewing, Capita, Union, Coal, Airblaster, Mt Seymour, Cotton Canvas, The Boardroom, & Timebomb Trading. Jasper Fast made the trophies. Jesse Robinson Williams did the Poster Art. Jay Hill drove the cat for 4 days straight. Thank you to everyone involved including all the diggers! - Rob Lemay [o]
